Hamid Majidimehr, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization told IQNA that the competition will be held later this month.
Iranian Quran expert Gholam Reza Shahmiveh Esfehani will serve as a member of the panel of judges, he noted.
Also, Omid Hosseininejad will represent Iran in the competition’s recitation category, Majidimehr added.
Hosseininejad, who is from Khorasan Razavi Province, has been selected as the country’s representative by the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Qaris, the official stated.
He noted that the qari had previously competed in the international Quran competition of Turkey.
Majidimehr described Russia’s Quran competition as a prestigious international Quranic event and hoped for success for the Iranian qari in the contest.
